WHEN: Thursday August 27 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
WHERE: Warr Acres Library
WHY: A: For the first 20 minutes, we will give an update on the dam rehabilitation and report from the treasurer regarding current funds, with a brief explanation of the need for a second assessment (authorized last April) in the amount of $200 for single family homes and $120 for each side of a duplex. As you can see from the enclosure, the second assessment has been levied.
B: We are implementing a neighborhood patrol / watch and anticipate having, everything in place (or at least close) by Thursday the 27th. Everyone who has been through the training is urged to attend this meeting so we can begin sign up for particular time slots in September.
If you are interested in participating in the neighborhood patrol / watch, you must complete the one hour training session, and you must submit an application. Pam Stalls has been around the neighborhood and given applications to many of you who have already completed training, and some of the applications have already been returned to her. Thanks to Pam for all her hard work.
If you have not been through the training, but would still like to participate, you can attend a general training session on Tuesday evening August 25 at 7:00 p.m. at the OKC PD, Hefner Division Police Station. It is located at 3924 Northwest 122nd Street, about 1/4 mile West of the Lake Hefner Parkway, just West of the new John Marshall High School.
We are really excited about having our neighborhood patrol / watch in place before Labor Day weekend. Much thanks to Pam Stahl and to Jennifer Dunn and all the volunteers for all their hard work getting this ready to go!
Also enclosed is a special note from Sharon Stiles, our treasurer. While the initial response to the first assessment was quite promising (many folks paid the whole amount in one lump sum), many of the homeowners are dragging behind. It isn't fair for you to ignore your obligation.
