The Pleasant View Social Club (PVSC) held its annual picnic on May 18, 2008 (12:00 PM-2:30 PM) at Pavilions 4 and 5, Fox Run Regional Park with 71 people in attendance. Eleven new families joined PVSC at the picnic. PVSC provided various kinds of submarine sandwiches and cold drinks, and attendees brought various side dishes and desserts to share. In addition to a variety of games, various speakers provided interesting talks. The representative from the El Paso County Parks provided information on the Fox Run Master Plan. The representative from the US Forest Service provided a variety of information regarding trees including fire danger, thinning, insect infestation, and dwarf mistletoe. The Academy Water and Sanitation District Board members present (Richard Dupont, Walter Reiss, Susan Girschick, and Jim Weilbrenner) provided information regarding the withdrawal of Donala Water and Sanitation District?’s invitation to merge with it and the way ahead. Numerous questions were answered. The PVSC President, Michelle Waggener, offered various ideas to further the aspect of community in Pleasant View. The picnic was enjoyed by all. The 2008 PVSC Directory was also distributed to members in attendance. Current membership is 63 families.
