The Pleasant View Social Club (PVSC) Board of Directors (BoD) met at the home of Michelle Waggener on April 24, 2008. Michelle Waggener, President; Kurt Hufford, Vice President; Jim Weilbrenner, Secretary; and Sam Hartman, At-Large Director, were present. Walter Reiss, Treasurer, was absent. Michelle Waggener opened the meeting at 6:30 PM. The primary purpose of the meeting was to plan the PVSC Picnic for 12:00 AM-3:00 PM, May 18, 2008. The following topics were discussed:

?• Signs. In the past, signs promoting the picnic have been placed around the various entrances to Pleasant View approximately two weeks prior to the event. In addition, directional signs to the picnic site at Pavilions 4 and 5 in the Fox Run Regional Park are placed the day of the picnic. The board agreed to do the same this year. Kurt Hufford volunteered to procure signs and place them. The board authorized him to purchase any necessary frames and signs up to $100. He will also check out the PVSC storage at the Sun Hills Fire Station to see what signs are available there. A subsequent visit to the PVSC storage at the Sun Hills Fire Station by Michelle Waggener and Jim Weilbrenner on April 22, 2008 discovered that the PVSC storage cabinet was gone and some of its contents had been placed in boxes at the rear of the building. Various paper products (plates, napkins, etc) and signs were found and taken to Michelle?’s house.
?• Directory. Michelle Waggener is putting the PVSC directory together. At the time of the board meeting, 49 residents had turned in membership forms. Michelle stated she would send out another email offering residents another week or so to return membership forms in order to be included in the directory prior to having it printed. The directory will be distributed at the PVSC picnic.
?• Activities. Michelle Waggener said she would bring volleyball equipment and Frisbees. Some discussion was held regarding previous activities such as face painting, caricatures, magician, and organized children?’s games, but was not pursued due to expense and lack of time and volunteers to organize it.
?• Food. Discussion on various food possibilities was held. A decision was made to purchase large submarine sandwiches and have picnic attendees bring a salad or dessert depending on their last name. Michelle has subsequently sent out an email with this concept. A volunteer was subsequently obtained to organize the food.
?• Drink. The board decided to purchase water and soft drinks for the picnic. A volunteer was subsequently obtained to organize the drinks to include their purchase, ice, and coolers.
?• Presentations. Sam Hartman volunteered to coordinate a gardening presentation by the owner of the High Country Home and Garden store in Monument. Jim Weilbrenner will provide information from the Academy Water and Sanitation District. Michelle Waggener was try to arrange a presentation on trees and other vegetation and associated problems from the El Paso County Extension Office. She will also discuss various topics related to PVSC.
?• Picnic Check-In/Registration. Jim Weilbrenner will set-up a table to greet all attendees, verify their membership, distribute the PVSC directory, offer membership applications to those who are not members and wish to join, and collect fees from those who are not members and do not wish to join ($5.00 for each adult (18 years and older), $3.00 for each child over the age of 2, and nothing for children 2 years of age and younger). He will prepare appropriate signs for the above. He will also need the latest membership roster.
?• Fall Meeting. Dates for the Fall Town Hall meeting will be solicited from the picnic attendees.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM.
