I would be interested in understanding their perspective about the project status:

 - Are they waiting for PennDOT improvements? 

 - Or is there some other reason behind the perpetual "coming soon" status?

BTW: I lived in Chicago (Wheaton, IL) before coming to Philadelphia for college - I have been looking forward to this Pizzeria Uno's for YEARS...

BTW: I don't think we should be against development - the fact is that development is coming.  The key is that it is done right, incorporating the overall community needs (like sidewalks!).  If we feel we have to boycott all the businesses near us, what's the point of living here?

I totally agree.  I look forward to the Pizzeria Uno too.  I just want to see it blend in more with the community and not look like a truck stop.  This will set the tone for the future developments in the 422 Oaks exit area.

Update: (As per a colleague in Oaks Neighbors):

We have heard that the leases have been signed for both Chili's and Wawa, which means the Oaks Garden Center is likely in its last season *AND*  bulldozers will likely appear within the next six months or so to prepare and build the site.

As per the site plan on the ALD website (referenced in the first post of this thread), there are FIVE buildings planned for this location, which means they will be built RIGHT UP TO THE PROPERTY LINES. 

BTW: We also heard the Uno's was going to move up to Providence Town Center, but the word is that they are again planning on being across the street from the Chili's/Wawa site (Northeast corner of Egypt and Black Rock).  The holdup is reportedly related to a disupte betwen the Uno's developer and ALD (go figure) about an ALD plot of land closer to 422 that ALD wants Uno's developer to provide access to as part of their development.  They have not been able to come to a resolution, so the property just sits there...
