I look forward to this year as the new president of the Putnam Heights Preservation Area. Peggy Madden did a superb job leading us through the last year during which the neighborhood undertook the strategic planning process which resulted in four committees: Partners in Education; Regional Alliance; Communications/Community-Building; and Median Beautification, Landscaping & Maintenance.
Thanks go to Georgie Rasco of Neighborhood Alliance for facilitating our neighbors through the strategic planning process. The four new committees will be working through the planning and implementation of the identified and agreed upon goals and objectives.
We have enhanced our holiday event by dedicating it to the Anderson Family Endowment left by our gracious neighbor Guyton. The Guyton Anderson Holiday Reception will be an annual function for Putnam Heights. We chose the Christmas and New Year season in light of the annual black-eyed pea reception Pauline Anderson, and later her son Guyton, held at the family home on 35th Street Hundreds of friends stopped by over the course of New Year?’s Day to enjoy Guyton?’s generous hospitality.
