August 15th City Council Meeting Highlights:

?„?? 7 Probationary Fire Fighters will begin their training for the LFD.
?„?? Parks in the city 9th and 10th ward have been renovated and new equipment added.
?„?? The parks here in the 5th ward are still under construction. ( when asked ) the 5th ward councilman stated ?¡?§ The parks should be completed by summer?¡?¦s end?¡?¨
?„?? Several appointments were announced most notable was the appointment of Mr. Dennis Sheehey as the Deputy Director of Homeland Security for the city to replace Councilman Charles Crane. ( non compensated position) The council voted 10 ?¡V 1 to approve this appointment.
?„?? The Linden Library Board is considering the new location of the library right next door to the Raymond Bauer Amphitheater.
