Highlights of your associaction
The association was founded by Mr. Thomas Jones and other residents working
with the new city officials the city and county agreed to the reconstruction. Working with
the city the reconstruction Hunt Lane with a turn lane was completed. Durning the
reconstruction many children had to walk back streets to the school, association
members watch these routes to insure the safety of these children.
Several zoning changes have been attempted the first being a chicken processing plant on
Hunt Lane between Adams Hill and Marbach Road. Other zoning changes have also been
defeated or approved the last being the approval of the construction of a Nursing Home.
Several code violations including the illegal overnight parking of gasoline tank trucks, an
illegal day care, automotive repair shops, illegal dumping, repairs to a burnt house. The
Zoning of low income apartments being built only after agreeing to pay school taxes
Working with city officials the current/ past presidents, members of the association and
residents; all of the streets in the area were repaved or reconstructed. Street light were
installed at ever corner, additional street lights and sidewalks built including the only
sidewalk on loop 410.
1998:
Appeared before the SAWS and BEXAR MET BOARDS. Requsted sewer and water lines
in Meadow Village II be inspected and replaced before the streets were resurfaced.
Appeared before the Metropolotan Transportation, (MPO), Improvement Board and
received funding for reconstruction of Demya Drive to state standards estimayed cost over
one million the demolition of a home on Demya which has since been rebuilt.
But we need repairs to our streets, more street lights and more and better sidewalks.
May of 2010 association members appeared before the dangerous structure board about
the old K-MART building and they ruled for the building to be tore down, The owners
appealed and the court also ruled for the demolition, this ruling was reported to be final.
Additional inprovements in the Rainbow Hills park include the covered basket ball court
Current projects under construction included better drainage for the basket ball court and
installation of a sun shade on the west side, a half court pratice basket ball court, new
softball field with dugouts, a lighted soccer field, bleachers, a one-quarter mile lighted
walking trail,a playground, additional parking and a irrigation system. The need for a
gymnasium is evident in the many basket ball players we see and more room so more
children can be enrolled in the summer and other programs.
We need you to help obtain this for our young men and ladies and all others who would
like to enjoy the center.
