OPPOSITION BY TELEPHONE

May I please speak with ________? My name is ________ and I am a resident of Rebel Meadows. I respectfully request that the city publicly acknowledge and adopt the position that Mack Hatcher’s proposed Northern Routes “A” and “B” are unacceptable in the current state of planning. Previous routes proposed at the inception of the 20-year Thoroughfare Plan were in place to avoid the shortcomings of the current path. As Mack Hatcher is a work in progress, there is sufficient reason for the city to consider and accept alternatives that can better satisfy the needs of our neighborhood and our community.

I, along with the other members of my community, are willing to publicly endorse the placement of the future Mack Hatcher/Hillsboro Road intersection north of it’s current location to alleviate traffic congestion, to provide greater safety to the Franklin High school zone, to protect our neighborhood from the possible environmental consequences, and to allow our neighborhood to stay intact as was intended at inception. Additionally, we would consider supporting other alternatives that could achieve the previously mentioned goals.

It is my request that as our community’s elected officials, the Mayor and Board of Alderman rise to our request for action to support the will of your constituents.
