Rembrandt

We can’t let our neighborhood turn into Perris – beautiful new neighborhoods were abandoned by home owners because they let the vandals/gangs win by not standing up early. We must address the source of the problem before we start removing assets we bought and paid for and that make this the neighborhood we’ve chosen to raise our kids in! I’d like to propose we give notice to all owners (and put up a sign) that the park is closed after dark and anyone inside is subject to trespassing arrest. I know several home owners around the park that would probably gladly participate to keep us from giving-up such an essential neighborhood asset; and there are many people that walk dogs in the neighborhood who I’m sure would make a quick cell phone call if we provided a number for them. We need to nip this problem before it gets any worse, rather than to capitulate to these vandals. I think it is obvious that if we remove assets they will simply vandalize the assets that are left!

I couldn't agree with you more Ed. A neigborhood watch is exactly what every neighborhood needs and it does not have to be boring. You can have a BBQ, potluck, weed abatement, vacant home clean up day..... the more that join in, the quicker the job (or fun goes) and the more you get to know each other.

Thank you so much for inviting me to your neighborhood. From what I saw today, your neighborhood has the makings to be my "Model Neighborhood Watch" program. Maybe sometime I can get all of you Neighborhood Watch Coordinators together to share ideas. Also, I learn from each neighborhood. This program has become the most favorite part of my job. I've seen the Neighborhood Watch signs posted.  Has there been a meeting or other action to create more interest in the program?  Does the program extend to the surrounding tracts?  I'm willing to participate.

Thanks for visiting our website and replying to this post. Don't the Neighborhood signs look great? We had our first meeting at our park in July and it took this long to get the through the permit/paperwork and ordering rig-a-morol but they finally got installed a couple of weeks ago. I put flyers on all the Rembrandt doors before the meeting to generate interest and invite everyone to join the website. I think we should include surrounding communities and any help and ideas you could contribute would be greatly appreciated by all neighbors!
