Fire and Police Protection

Richlawn is under the fire protection district of the Saint Matthews Fire Department. The total
cost of the fire protection service is paid by a separate tax. We are located in the Fifth
Division of the Louisville Metro Police. In the case of an emergency (life is in danger, etc.)
contact the Metro Police ?“911 ?“. For non-emergency situations contact Dispatch at 574-7111.

Under the Judicial Reform Act which was implemented in 1978, traffic tickets covering all
moving violations are heard and decided at the District Court level. District Court covering
Richlawn matters are currently being held at Jefferson County Hall of Justice.
