Sanitation/Recycling/Yard Waste

Sep 08, 2007

Included in the basic property tax is the curbside collection of solid waste, recyclables,
and yard waste once a week. At the time of this printing, all collection services are on Monday.
Solid waste is all material other than yard waste or recyclable items. Each residence is provided a 95 gallon waste wheeler, with any additional bags or cans placed at the curb separate from yard waste or recyclables.

Recyclable items accepted in the program include:
?• Aluminum cans;
?• Aluminum foil & foil food containers;
?• Tin & bi-metal cans;
?• Aerosol cans;
?• All plastic bottles (no lids or caps);
?• Gift & cereal boxes;
?• Telephone books;
?• Office & computer paper;
?• Paperboard & beverage carrying cases;
?• Brown paper grocery bags;
?• Newsprint (including slicks);
?• Magazines/catalogs; and
?• Corrugated cardboard (2?’x2?’ bundles).

Residents are to place their newsprint, magazines/catalogs and junk mail in paper bags
to be placed next to their recycle bin.

Yard waste is all herbaceous material (leaves, grass clippings, branches, shrubbery, etc.) must
be bundled or placed in containers?—loose items will not be collected. Yard waste will be
collected during the months of March through November with a special Christmas tree
collection.

To request a special billable pickup of trash, appliances, etc. or to report a missed pickup
contact Rumpke Customer Service at 568-3800.
PLEASE do not place items at the curb until the evening prior to the scheduled pickup.
