RIVERCREST NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION
NEWSLETTER August 2007
RIVERCREST PARK SPRAYPARK
Opened June 1st with a community celebration.
The City of Oregon City and Rivercrest Neighborhood Association co-hosted a dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:00 p.m. on Friday evening, June 1st followed by a hotdog barbecue.
We must remind everyone that the spray park surface is not for skateboarding!!! There are signs posted high up on the fence and they may be hard to see but they ARE THERE.
Parents , please remind your youngsters that the TENNIS COURT, BASKETBALL COURT and the SPRAY PARK are off limits to skateboards. It would be a shame to ruin the surface of these facilities that we have waited so long to have updated. They will have to last a long time and the grants it took to acquire these new facilities were hard to come by. PLEASE, help the neighborhood keep these facilities in good condition.
The RNA June general membership meeting was cancelled. Our next general meeting will be held on October 18th. At that meeting we will have a representative from the City or the Clackamas County Fire District #1 to speak to us about the City?•s contract with fire district #1, which will expire June 30, 2008. We need to hear all the facts pertaining to the contract and what happens to us if we no longer have fire coverage. Will our insurance rates and mortgage rates go up if we no longer have fire covered? Many questions have to be answered. Please plan to attend this important meeting.

Our recent fundraiser,
those beautiful hanging baskets,
was such a great success that we plan to have another one next year.
Thanks, neighbors!
DID YOU KNOW ??? We have a website!!!
http;//www.neighborhoodlink.com/oregoncity/rcna
Check it out. To help with that, we have a new steering committee member , Kim Cameron, who has volunteered to keep our web site updated with the latest news of our neighborhood. She will try to bring us into the new age. Some of her ideas and suggestions are: You can?‰
*Post items ?’wanted?“ or ?’for sale?“ for instance, that dresser or swing set you don?•t need anymore.
*Post items/goods/services that you want to barter/trade or borrow..i.e. ?’I?•ll help with roof repair in exchange for some plumbing help.?“ or ?’Does anyone have a rototiller I can borrow on Saturday?“
*Post free items-i.e. I have two wheelbarrows full of river rock I don?•t need, come and get it.?“ or ?’Free, girls clothes size 10-12.
*Post services that you can offer?? i.e. ?’I?•m 16 years old and can baby-sit on Friday or Saturday nights in our neighborhood.?“
*Post photos of neighborhood events or make a family website.
*Post upcoming garage sales, etc.
The possibilities are endless...we just have to start posting...so go on line to neighborhoodlink.com/oregoncity/rcna/
This gives us an opportunity to find out what?•s what in our own neighborhood. Try it!!
PET OWNERS, BEWARE
Or Be Aware
A recent newspaper article told of our City code enforcement officials citing a local dog owner for allowing his dogs to run at large and for allowing the animals to ?’offensively litter.?“
This is just a reminder that you may be cited if you do not pick up after your animals ?’offensively littering?“ in the park.
