Meeting Minutes September 12, 2007

Attendance: approximately 65 members. Next meeting will be Saturday October 13, 2007 at 11 AM.

Speaker at next meeting will be a representative from WMATA to discuss the proposed Purple Line and how it might impact our community.

Officer nominees introduce themselves in preparation of election.

Committee Updates: (10 minutes)
Community Improvement Committee
• Graffiti removal continues at 59th and Sheridan St, 59th and Ravenswood, 60th Place
• Beautification of Rittenhouse Street and 61st Place by DER. DER had a contractor clean it once, but it wasn’t satisfactory so they will return.
• Repair/repaving of Rittenhouse Street and lower Quintana Street has been requested. Letter to director of DPW requesting survey of all streets in our community regarding repairs, speed humps, etc.

Report from a meeting of local leaders to discuss gangs in Riverdale area, sponsored by Council Member Eric Olson. We are the model of a neighborhood regaining control and peace in our community using county resources.
