The Agenda of the Past Year

The Roseland Heights Community Association (RHCA) goals for the year 2008 identified the year's vision and "short range" goals. These goals were created as new initiatives designed to utilize the knowledge, life experiences, talents and commitment of the membership of RHCA to enhance and improve the community. The initiatives used to assist and encourage sustainable improvement and growth were as follows"
*To expand the monthly newsletters and additional printed material.
*To Increase Block Clubs.
*To develop a "Welcome to the Neighborhood" packet.
*To develop RHCA handbooks and visuals.
*To strengthen and broaden RHCA's internal organization so that it's members can research, develop and implement strategies that will result in a cleaner, safer, and more productive community.
*To have a membership Drive and ensure community support for operations.
*The creation of six committees: 1. Community Aid and Enrichment, 2. Safety/Security, 3. Planning and Improvement, 4. Parks and Recreation, 5. Education and 6. Economic Development.
*To work on a Clean and Green program.
*To work to obtain information, assistance and solutions for this community's concerns, problems and needs, making sure residents are included in the decision-making process that ultimately impact or contribute to the destruction of the community's standards and home
values.
Last year was a productive year for meetings. On the behalf of the community RHCA met with park officials, Harlen High School Principal Evans, Alderman Lyles, Attend CAPS, spoke with police Commander Ball and attended Chicago State University community discussions.
RHCA also arranged for guest speakers and advocated the "Small Town" model neighborhood concept that would enhance the community and its schools.
