SNAPP Meeting August 18,2011 Minutes
The meeting was called to order at 6:15 PM. All officers were present except the Secretary, Dave Densmore, who was out of town.
Maggie Gerring made a motion to discuss the possibility of registering SNAPP with the City of Tucson as a recognized coalition. That motion was seconded.
The pro's & con's of registration were discussed and a motion to advance the question was made by Maggie. That motion failed on a 5-1 vote.
Roundtable:
Cherry Ave N/A-Cheryl Strickland discussed a crosswalk
Barrio Kroger Lane N/A-Margaret Ward reported that there were pit bulls running loose in their neighborhood. The Verdugo Park has been completed.
Bravo Park N/A- Sandra Fimbres reported the Mesica lost their liquor license request. Oct 4th Night Out expecting 200 people. ESL grant for 75 people.
Park Ave N/A-Maggie Gerring reported on the S Park/36th Str/Freeway widening project, Reporting that the west side will have sidewalks.
Sunnyside N/A-Yolanda Herrera stated their Oct 4th Night Out is expecting 300-500 people and will have 25 information booths. They had a successful bulk & brush with 8 roll offs. SSNA is opposed to Marisco liquor license.
Menlo Park N/A-Gene Einfrank reported they hosted the 4:30-7:00 Farmer's Market. A new Survivor Housing Bldg is going up at Congress/Santa Cruz river. Streetcar coming @ Cushing Street Bridge, may be named after Luis Gutierrez.
TPD Report-Sgt Marty Broderick-this will be his last meeting as he is being transferred.
There was a discussion of the SNAPP meeting notification. Notice goes to the neighborhood presidents who are then responsible for notifying their neighborhood members who want to attend. Also discussed honoring Sgt Broderick at the Sept SNAPP meeting.
