Neighborhood & Home Safety Suggestions

Whether you choose to have a registered Neighborhood Watch or not          the following suggestions can help keep you and neighborhood safe:

  1)  Keep shrubbery trimmed
  2)  Have your address visible from the street
  3)  Have deadbolt locks on exterior doors and use 3" screws in striker plates
  4)  Have and use a peep hole before opening your door
  5)  Use auxiliary locks on windows
  6)  Keep your porch kight on at night
  7)  Know at least the neighbors next door to you, across the street and behind you
  8)  Create a contact list of neighbors (email, phone numbers or yahoo group will work)
  9)  Report any suspicious activity to Police and notify your neighbors
10)  Record serial numbers and mark your property
