The meeting was called to order at 6:40 pm by co-chair Shirley Hockett. Introductions were made and the dues basket was passed.
The minutes for the November meeting were approved.
Police report: South Park has been quiet. There was gang-related gun violence and a double homicide at 6th and 12th. A second gang unit has been formed. Burglaries and auto theft numbers are down. Residents are reminded not to leave their vehicles unlocked and not to leave the keys in the car. Officer Fernandez who served the South Park area will be receiving an Officer of the Year award in January.

Adopt-a-park cleanup will be Dec. 16 at 8:00 am near the playground.
Kino Weed & Seed meeting Dec. 6:30 pm at Quincie Douglas Center.
Public Hearing regarding the Greater South Park Plan on Dec. 19 at Mayor and Council Chambers, City Hall. Discussing whether to allow residential use in addition to industrial and commercial at I-10 and Park Ave.
Pima County Future Bond Election open houses Dec. 5 at El Pueblo Neighborhood Center and Dec. 12 at Joel Valdez Main Library. Residents were encouraged to attend and support funding for Silverlake Park.
Drachman Institute is offering workshops on building healthy neighborhoods. Call 626-5293.
The arts center at 35th and Park is offering workshops on acrylic glazing and calligraphy. Call 792-3617 for information about their classes and art exhibits.
Representatives from The University of Arizona presented concepts for the new science center proposed for Rio Nuevo downtown. Residents were urged to visit Flandrau Science Center to see example exhibits and comment. Free tickets to Flandrau were distributed.
The meeting was adjourned and the annual holiday dinner followed.
