The children worked in the Linwood Avenue Pocket Park and surrounding areas picking up trash, trimming, and cutting broken branches. There was also a brief discussion on what it means to take care of a neighborhood. Children also learned how to thin and transfer some ground cover as an economical way to landscape.
After the cleanup we went to Central Community House where lunch was served and Officer Billups gave the children a goody bag which included a T-Shirt, yoyo, change holder and other safety reminders. Two of the children would like to be policeman, so he talked to them about the requirements. The day was ended by a nice romp in Kwanza Playground.
