Re: Development on Main Street

I am writing on behalf of the members of the South of Main Blockwatch to formally complain about your support of the proposed co-anchor store at 1179 E. Main Street.

The members of our blockwatch are dedicated to rebuilding our area, to making it a neighborhood of choice. This includes working with our youth to give them a positive spin on life, to break the cycle of crime and future crippling experiences such as early, unplanned pregnancies and in many cases retreating from the school system.

We are specifically trying to introduce our young ladies to positive role models, to help them understand that one’s appearance and demeanor can greatly enhance or severely hamper one’s chance for success.

We would appreciate the opportunity to participate in finding a business that reflects the kind of neighborhood that we want.
