Introductions:
Minutes August 3rd. The minutes from August 3rd. were approved without corrections.

Old Business:
-Water Quality. The Pacific Palisades Community Council had a report from The City Bureau of Sanitation noting that Santa Monica Canyon Storm Drain is a number one priority for the city and that sand bags have been placed in the channel to increase dry weather flow that is captured by the diversion system.
George will write a letter to the EPA supporting the City’s request for year round dry weather diversion.
-Park Improvement Project. Monique reported that the funds were transferred to the General Services Department over a year ago. Alejandro Ortiz reported that ground breaking is now scheduled for the first week in October.
-Gas Station. George reported that on August 17th the Los Angeles City Council granted the Stolman (neighbors) appeal which would deny auto detailing at the station.
-Amalfi construction.
Monique Ford reported the following on Amalfi projects;
263 Amalfi, nothing on file for that address yet, it is close to being permitted.
318 Amalfi, structure and installation of drywall have been approved.
333 Sumac, nothing on file for permits yet.
She also informed us that www.ladbs.org website lists new projects in the area. The person to contact in our area is Jack Upchurch, inspector for Building and Safety. Phone (213) 482-0000.

New Business:
-Canyon school. There were questions from the Jill Baldauf regarding the plantings and railroad ties opposite the Canyon school on West Channel Road, adjacent to the flood channel.
-Ballona Wetlands/Playa Vista.
Paul Herzog, representing the Wetlands Land Trust, discussed the issues around the Playa Vista project and informed the Board that a town meeting regarding this was to be held on September 20th at Venice High School. He asked if Santa Monica Civic Canyon Association would consider lending their name as a co-sponsor to the meeting.
motion-Lucinda Mittleman made a motion to co-sponsor the meeting. It was seconded and passed unanimously.
motion-Alex Man made a motion that Santa Monica Civic Association oppose approval of phase 2 development for Playa Vista. It was seconded and failed 5 in favor, 6 opposed.
Other business.
Angela Reddock introduced herself as a candidate for City Council, District 11 in March of 2005. She entertained questions from the Board and said that she would be happy to come back again.
