In the next several days members of the association will be delivering door to door flyers to remind neighbors of the monthly meeting on Wed. April 18th at 7pm . and other updated information. This could be a good time and opportunity to give cash or write a check for the association dues if you?’re at home and visited by one of your neighbors. Please remember that we have not collected dues or donations since 2002 and we need to cover some of the costs of materials needed for the ?“Use Permit?” issue as well as buy items needed for the Neighborhood Party coming soon. Thank you in advance for any amount contributed to help with the efforts of the SRGK neighborhood Association. If you can volunteer to help the association please let us know as we are always in need of another helping hand for work and efforts that benefit your neighborhood.

USE PERMIT HEARING:

SUCCESS! The recent ?“use permit?” application for a secondhand store in the AJ?’s plaza was withdrawn by the Salvation Army at the March 29th hearing. Efforts to restrict non class-A businesses such as: pawnshops, adult book stores, thrift stores, and others have been an important issue for us many residents of neighboring areas. A number of HOAs and SRGK Association neighbors worked together to oppose the zoning use permit issue.


BLOCK WATCH:

Lately crime in our neighborhood has become more noticeable. A group of neighbors have started a block watch and are moving forward with getting block watch signs placed in an effort to help curb this problem. If you see strange things going on in the neighborhood, report it to the police. The police need our eyes to help stop crime.


WALL PAINTING PROJECT:

The block wall on the south side of Thunderbird Road needs attention. Everyone wants to see the wall painted; over the years it has become an eyesore for people traveling in and out of the area. Volunteer efforts are already underway to get this job done. Call 602-862-0313, if you would like to help.

NEIGHBORHOOD PARTY

We are having a Neighborhood Party at the Gold Key Racquet Club on Sunday afternoon, May 6th from 4-6. We will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and soda. Will you bring desert? Please RSVP to 602-862-0313 with the number attending! COME MEET YOUR NEIGHBORS AND FIND OUT WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE AREA!


FUNDING:

The Shadow Rock-Gold Key Neighborhood Association has not been diligently collecting (voluntary) dues of $12 each year. No contributions have been collected since 2002. We are not asking for past dues, however, we would like each resident to consider providing what they can to help pay for our considerable neighborhood improvements, such as, painting the Thunderbird wall and block watch signs. Please make a check payable to SRGK Association for any amount you feel is appropriate. If you call 602-862-0313 and leave a message, a Shadow Rock-Gold Key Association representative can pickup your cash/check.
