Councilwoman Hamilton announces next meeting of District 5 Neighborhood Advisory Committee set for Monday, April 20th

The Cardinal Success Program will be featured beginning at 6:30pm

Louisville – Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton announces the next meeting of the District 5 Neighborhood Advisory Committee is set for Monday, April 20th and will feature a presentation on the University of Louisville Cardinal Success Program.

 “Dr. Eugene Foster, Director of the program, will talk about the services now being offered to students and families in need of mental health wellness and counseling services,” says Hamilton.

The Cardinal Success Program is helping individuals and families through improved access to mental health and wellness services, counseling, and college and career readiness services.

Currently the program brings access to quality counseling psychology services to students at the Academy @ Shawnee and will provide those services to families in the West Louisville community at the NIA Center in the near future.

 “Major Bill Kristofeck of the LMPD’s 2nd Division will provide an update on crime and violence in West Louisville and Operation Trust efforts,” says Hamilton. “This meeting will also discuss possible links between mental illness and violence.”

The District 5 Neighborhood Advisory Committee meets monthly at the Yearlings Club, 4309 West Broadway beginning at 6:30pm. Any resident of Portland, Russell, Chickasaw or Shawnee is always invited and encouraged to bring their neighborhood concerns to these monthly meetings.
