Committee News

Safety Committee
The safety committee has been very busy. They have consulted with the Adam District police on what has been needed to make our neighborhood a safe community. The first item was to have speed limit signs posted throughout the neighborhood. They have also been advised of the lack of light throughout the area, and are consulting with LG&E about the installation of additional streetlights. The police department has been of great help, and are patroling our neighborhood more often, giving them insight as to improvements and problems. In our future open meeting, we look forward to an officer being in attendance, to instruct us all on implementing a block watch program. Thank you for all of your hard work on making our community a safe place to reside.

Social Committee
On December 8th the neighborhood social committee had its first event. We had a Holiday Open House at Bud & Maggi Windhorst?’s home. Everyone seemed to have a great time and we had 40-50 people. Three door prizes were awarded. We would like to thank everyone for participating, and thank the social committee for all of their hard work. We would like to extend a special thanks to the Windhorst?’s for opening up their home to the community.

Current Plans for future events are: March Madness Party
Neighborhood Yard Sale
July 4th Celebration
Halloween / Chili Cook Off

March Madness Party will be a mid-tournament party to cheer on your favorite team. Meet your neighbors and socialize. Watch for information coming?…?…?…

Beautification Committee
The extensive decorations throughout Silver Creek were beautiful this past holiday season! Seven members of the Beautification Committee served as judges of the decorations, and they had quite a task in judging all of the festive homes. And the winners are..

First Place Dan and Stacy Johnson
Second Place Fred and Jo Ann Judd
Third Place Kuk, Esther and Matthew Choi
Honorable Mention Van, Lisa and Aspen Jarrett

Besides having the privilege of displaying the winner signs in their yard, each winning household won prizes donated from local merchants. Thank you to all of the generous merchants who donated prizes.

Max & Irma?’s, SD Salon Delonjay, Bob Evans, Qdoba Mexican Grill, and Tony Roma?’s

Also, thank you to committee member Melissa Webb who spent a great deal of time and effort soliciting for the donations!

A huge thanks to the nine Beautification Committee members who spent a very chilly Saturday afternoon in November decorating the entrance to Silver Creek for the holidays. To help reduce the cost of the initial purchase of the lights, we had a Silver Creek resident donate $125 towards the cost. The homeowner would like to remain anonymous, but please know that we all appreciate her generosity! A special thank you to Silver Creek resident Fred Judd who managed the electrical cords and timer throughout the season. We have now discovered that whenever it rained, we had problems with the lights coming on. We are sure many of you noticed this issue as well. Don?’t worry; we have a plan to fix this problem next year!
