Our Neighborhood is served by the Worthington Fire Department. They are located at 4700 Murphy Lane and can be reached at 241-9366.
Residents of the Worthington Fire Protection District can contact the Bureau to schedule a courtesy fire safety inspection of their home by calling the Bureau anytime Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The safety inspection is offered as a service to point out items found in every home that may cause a fire or other emergency situation. The findings are given to the homeowner and are merely recommendations to make the home safe. The recommendations are not required to be corrected since single-family homes are exempt from State Fire Codes & Regulations. The "Home Safety Inspections" are offered free of charge and are scheduled on a first come first served basis. For more information about this service, please call Major Steve Dellis at (502) 241-9366.
Questions and Answers
If my smoke detector goes off in the middle of the night, what should I do?
You should roll out of bed and crawl to the nearest exit and leave the building. Call 911 and notify the dispatcher your address and you need the Fire Department. Once you are out of the house stay out! Today, a home can burn down in less than 4 minutes; you may be unable to escape a burning home in less than one minute. Don't take chances. Get out as quickly as you can and call 911 from a neighbor's home.
Sometimes I see fire hydrants leaking or caps missing. Why doesn't the Fire Department correct these problems?
Fire hydrants are inspected twice a year by Fire fighters. The Louisville Water Company performs repair and installation of fire hydrants. If you have questions concerning a fire hydrant, please call the Louisville Water Company at 502-569-3600.
How do I get a copy of a fire report?
The fire report is a public document and can be obtained by anyone. Reports are available at your Jefferson County Fire Department. You will need to know the date and time of the fire and the correct address where the incident occurred.
