  • Respect-O-Meter: Valued Neighbor
I am seeing a trend that would suggest that due to our bylaws; our hands are tied on almost every issue we attempt to resolve. It seems the very bylaws set forth to aid and protect our neighborhood are preventing us from doing the most basic thing. I wonder if we are ''overinterpreting'' them?? In any case, maybe we should consider a major reconstruction of our bylaws if not by repenning, then; by amendment. This will be a hassle but as is, our homeowners association is helpless. I do not wish to rock the boat but we ARE dead in the water.
Bylaw changes

As a member of the board I will have to say I would agree. On the statements that the current bylaws hinder us from doing anything. The wish to sure up the current bylaws is being tried. Major effects this way will take years to see any real changes. The process takes to long to get enough people to vote on the issues at hand. It also requires a large part of the volunteer boards time.
As to repenning the bylaws and enacting them requires legal counsel and again lots of time to get everybody needed involved. A non-effort on the part of members of the association to the current meetings and issues make this nearly impossible. A show of support at the meetings would weight heavily on the Associations ability to enact changes.
