ElderPlace Has Openings!
An older adult day program and intergenerational program
Location: Brown Elementary School, 2550 Lowell, Room 117
Hours: 7:30AM - 6:00PM
Cost: We accept both Medicaid and private-pay clients. Medicaid will pay for the program if client is approved by HCBS (Home & Community Based Services). Private pay is $40-42 per full day. (4 or more hours) Clients are able to attend full or half days.
Designed for: Elders who would like some fun and companionship, or for their caregivers who need a comfortable, friendly place for their family member to stay during the day or week.
About Us: Our day program is designed to keep elder clients mentally, socially and physically active to the best of their abilities. We promote the well-being of each individual through a variety of fun activities: word games, exercise, singing, arts and crafts, drama, parties, current events/news, table games, reminiscing and outings into the community....Imax, bowling, zoo, museums, Blackhawk, picnics, coffee shops, Dining Out, etc....
We also offer the unique opportunity of involving elders with the young students at this school. The elders have the option of visiting classrooms, listening to kids read and helping them with worksheets. We have intergenerational music, movement, drumming and rhythm groups designed to increase "brain power" for both elders and kids! We recently co-starred with the third grades in an educational
musical for parents and the community called "Colorado Flashbacks!"
