- Among the most elegant of the Sorensen neighborhood?’s early homes was the Iverson house at Wooddale and Hamilton, occupied by Carl, Beverly and Stephen Iverson. The two-story home had a spacious front porch, a dining room with oak built-ins and paneling, a living room with an oak beam ceiling and a stained glass window.
- In the late 1890s, nearly every family in the neighborhood?—and throughout St. Louis Park?—owned chickens, and possibly a cow or two.
- Palm?’s Bakery, which has been in business for more than 50 years, was built on the site of the farm home of Joseph Hamilton, St. Louis Park?’s first mayor.
