On August 7, National Night Out was celebrated at eight separate Sorensen neighborhood gatherings, with excellent attendance
at many of the events.
Forty-two people attended the party on the 3300 block of Zarthan, meeting their neighbors and enjoying root beer floats. Jan Loftus reported that the kids may have had the most fun, riding bikes, playing basketball and drawing chalk pictures on the driveway.
Lois Zander pronounced her block?’s event (3100 Zarthan) ?“outstanding,?” with 39 neighbors showing up for a pot luck barbecue, pool party and music. ?“Such a good time was had by all that we stayed out from 6 to 10:30,?” Lois said. ?“The teens continued on. I?’d say that was a big success.?”
If you didn?’t have a NNO event, we need you to sign up to be a Block Captain. It?’s easy and rewarding. By becoming a Block Captain, you will hold an introductory block meeting; reduce your likelihood of becoming a crime victim; strengthen relationships among your neighbors and participate in National Night Out Against Crime block parties.
