National FFA Organization

Convention

As you may have heard, the National FFA Organization will move its annual convention to Indianapolis in 2006. More than 50,000 young people will converge on the city for four days of workshops, learning sessions, and other activities.

As special part of this year's event is the National FFA Day of Service. This will be a day of outreach into the Indianapolis community and surrounding areas. Thousands of FFA members will participate in the selected project/s.

FFA is seeking civic projects within a certain geographic area that benefit the community, can be sustained or expanded over a seven-year period, and contain certain required elements which include student leadership development and personal growth, community development, an educational component, and is agri-science related. Projects must take place in the geographic area defined as Marion County, Indiana and the seven surrounding counties.

Organizations with an educational, service, or philanthropic mission are encouraged to submit a proposal. This is not an application for funding, although some funding may become available upon selection of a project.
