Texas Sales Tax Holiday, Aug 1 - 3

Texas shoppers get a break from local and state sales taxes (on selected items) during the state?’s fifth annual tax holiday. Qualifying items that had been put on lay-away may be picked up tax-free during this period. Additionally, qualifying items put on lay-away during the holiday, can be picked up tax-free later.
The tax exemption applies to school uniforms, work uniforms, baby clothes, belts (with buckles), dresses, gloves, jeans, coats & wraps, ties, raincoats & ponchos, many types of shoes, pajamas, robes, slippers, socks, underwear, jackets, sweaters, caps, jogging apparel and other athletic clothing commonly worn on the street.
