This is the 20th Annual National Nite Out (NNO) - Tue Aug 5, 7?—10 PM. If you?’re going to have a block party, hopefully, you?’ve already done some planning. The purpose is to get to know your neighbors better, so you can better look out for one another. Suggestions for your block party include: asking attendees to bring some snacks to share; asking attendees to bring canned goods to donate to the San Antonio Food Bank, asking attendees to bring children?’s school supplies to donate to our local elementary schools. (You can get a listing of exact school supplies used, by calling the school?’s Principal?’s office.)
SWCA can assist with ideas, nametags, and maybe other things. If you plan ahead and register your block party with SAPD, the police will typically stop in to visit your party, as well as your Councilman and other officials. Plus, if you register ahead of time and submit an award application report to SAPD after your party, you could win prizes! SWCA had registration forms at our Jul & Aug meetings, but you can also register online at ?“www.savip.org?”. Registration forms must be in to SAPD by 4:30 PM, Tue, Jul 29. Award applications must be in to SAPD by 4:30 PM, Fri, Aug 15. For more info from SAPD, call 207-8927 or 7386.
Whether you register with SAPD or not, if you want SWCA assistance, you should call 623-4965 as soon as possible, but no later than Noon on Sun, Aug 3rd.
