The door prize at our Sep meeting was a $20 gift certificate, donated by the Texas Roadhouse Restaurant, 2893 Cinema Ridge (Loop 410 near Ingram Rd). Barbara Arceneaux was the lucky winner. We are very grateful for support from the business community and encourage all members to remember them when you?’re looking for a place to do business. We also thank Barnes & Noble Bookseller, 6065 NW Loop 410 (by Best Buy) for giving our organization the educators?’ discount when we purchased books to donate to the 4 public schools within our boundaries. Because of their wonderful generosity, we were able to purchase many more books with our limited dollars. Books make good holiday gifts for all ages. Lastly, we thank Eakin Press of Austin, for also giving SWCA its wonderful educators?’ discount on the books we purchased there (again to donate to the 4 public schools within our boundaries). This is the second time Eakin Press has helped SWCA obtain books for donations. Many of their books are available at area bookstores and historical retail outlets (Institute of Texan Cultures, Missions, etc.) They publish childrens?’ and adult books that focus on Texas, Texas history, and Texas people.
