Southwest Community Association

SWCA Thanks

Mar 02, 2003

Because of space limitations, we?’ve not had room in our last few newsletters to thank new members, renewers, and people who do things to help our association. We?’ll try to catch up on those overdue ?“Thank you?”s.
We thank John Adams for attending the city?’s new Public Works Academy. Hopefully, the knowledge he gained will be passed on to others and help improve our area. We thank Dale Armwood, Sandra Gamboa, and Carole Abitz for giving up a day of their time in Nov to visit the Southwest Housing Projects in Dallas?—to gain more information related to the Heatherwilde Estates project. We thank Eufemia Mann, Sandra Gamboa, and Carole Abitz for giving up part of their Saturday to attend neighborhood association workshops; again, for the betterment of our association. We thank Annie Gonzales for passing out fliers for the Feb meeting.
We thank Sandra Gamboa for providing the door prize for our Oct 2002 meeting?—a ?“Happy Harvest?” tabletop decoration. The lucky winner was John Castro.
We thank The Quarterhorse Saloon?’s owner, Richard Whitcher, for donating the door prize for our Nov 2002 meeting?—a bubble bath & sponge set, and a beautiful feminine neck scarf. The lucky winner was Barbara Arceneaux. We?’re most appreciative when local businesses support us and encourage those residents (who are old enough) to stop in and check out the Quarterhorse Saloon. They carry many convenience items, not just ?“saloon?” stuff.
If we?’ve left anyone out who should have been included, please call 623-4965 and leave the information.
