SWCA To Host Walkable Community Workshop

Feb 26, 2004

SWCA will host one of the eight San Antonio Walkable Community Workshops throughout the city. They are conducted by the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and national experts?—to focus on how to help make our area a more healthy place to live, work, & play. Our 4 hour workshop is scheduled for Wed, May 19, from 12:30?—5 PM, Millers Pond Community Center. We realize this is a workday; however, those were our only options. We hope to have area participants who are not working during that time or are retired. We also invite area disabled residents to participate. The workshop will include light refreshments, slide presentations on ?“walkable communities?”, a 1-hr walk around our specific area (rain or shine), after which participants will develop a plan for ?“next steps?” for our area. Attendees should wear comfortable shoes & clothes. If you have any questions, call 623-4965.
