The original contractor working on the first phase of the project did not meet his contractual requirements. Therefore, the bonding company paid the city $10K in penalties and has hired another contractor to finish the work. That contractors started work on Feb 17 and has 60 days to finish. Hopefully, the $10K in penalties will be used for other much-needed projects at this sparsely-funded park instead of ?“disappearing?” into other areas of the city. Included in this first phase is the city?’s first dog park and an overlook area with earthen art.
