Status of Area Parks Projects

- Millers Pond Improvements (from May 99 bond) - This work (which was supposed to have been completed already) was delayed for months, because SAPAR linked it with two other Dist 4 parks?—and the community around one of those parks couldn?’t decide what they wanted done. They have finally decided, but now SAPAR is recommending the May 99 projects should be tied to the just approved Nov 03 bond projects. The Millers Pond Advisory Board is asking SAPAR NOT to do that, fearing it will only further delay everything. (See Calendar, Jan 14th.)
- Pearsall Road Park?—The contractor working on Phase I did not complete the work on time and walked away from the project. SAPAR has met with that contractor?’s bonding company and is working to get the project moving again. No dates yet; however, it is expected the contractor will pay a hefty fine.
