- Sat, Feb 7, FREE Landfill Disposal Day, 8 AM?—2 PM, Covell Gardens. Dispose of bulky items for free. (Acceptable items: old appliances, furniture, remodeling debris, mattresses and a maximum of 6 car tires.) Take a copy of your CPS bill to prove residency. Tarp truck loads. The Bitters Brush Recycling Center, 1800 Old Bitters Rd, will also be open from 8 AM?—5 PM, for brush and tree limbs ONLY. The Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Center, 7030 Culebra Rd, will be open from 8 AM?—1 PM, as it is the first Sat of each month. More info: 311.

- Sat, Feb 21, Lifeguard Recruitment Fair, 10 AM?—2 PM, Lion?’s Field Adult & Senior Citizen Center, 2809 Broadway. For good swimmers (ages 16 & up).
