National, State & Local Elections, Tue, Nov 2nd

Nov 16, 2004

Besides voting for President, Congress, State Legislature, many Judges, Sheriff, County Tax Assessor-Collector and other county officials, we?’ll also be voting on whether or not to approve an additional 1/4-of-a-cent sales tax for VIA?’s Advanced Transportation District. Early voting ends Fri, Oct 29. The three Early Voting sites closest to our area are: Johnston Branch library, Westlakes Mall & South Park Mall.
If you don?’t know who all is running, pick up a Sample Ballot at an Early Voting site and take it home to study. Additionally, ask at the library for printed Voters Guides (which are supposedly unbiased) with information on all of the candidates.
On Election Day itself, Tue, Nov 2, the voting sites will be open from 7 AM?—7 PM. In our area, Precinct 1039 votes at Indian Creek Elem School; Precinct 1061 votes at Sky Harbour Elem School. You must have registered at least 30 days prior to the day you actually vote. If you can?’t find your registration card, take your driver?’s license and you can still vote. If questions, call 335-8683.
