On Sat, Dec 11th, the Blue Santa parade will start about 10 AM and pass through the Sky Harbour subdivision. Sky Harbour residents need to know the line-up area and route?—mostly because we want people to come out of their homes and enjoy the parade. However, there are other reasons. A city street sweeper will pass through that route on Fri, Dec 10th, so cars should not be parked in the streets. Code Compliance will be showing special interest on this route for weeks before the parade. Of course, on Dec 11th, you can expect some delays during the parade timeframe, so plan your travel accordingly.
Parade line-up will start about 9 AM at the intersection of Fishers Bend and Old Sky Harbor, north on Portside, back to Mariner. The parade will travel south on Old Sky Harbor, west on Marina Bay, south on Silver Bow, east on Yacht Harbor, south on Old Sky Harbor, west on Ocean Port, east on Ocean Side, north on Harbor View, east on Old Sky Harbor, south on Clipper Dr, east on Port Townsend, north on Seafarer, east on Old Sky Harbor, north on Boston Harbor, west on Bowsprit, north on Portside, west on Fishers Bend crossing Old Sky Harbor, north on Port of Call, dispersing at the intersection of Old Sky Harbor and Port of Call.
SAPD will have a vehicle in the parade, into which residents are encouraged to place a new children?’s toy. The SAPD Blue Santa program will distribute these toys to needy children. Food booths, information booths, free entertainment, and drawings for free door prizes will go on at Millers Pond Park until 2 PM.
Tue, Dec 7th, following a press conference, SWCA needs volunteers to help pass fliers along the route. The more people, the less time it will take. Please help. Call 623-4965.
