On Sat, Dec 11th, the Blue Santa parade will start about 10 AM and pass through the Sky Harbour subdivision. Sky Harbour residents need to know the route?—mostly so they come out of their homes and enjoy the parade. However, there are other reasons. A city street sweeper will pass through that route on Fri, Dec 10th, so cars should not be parked in the streets. Code Compliance will be showing special interest on this route for weeks prior to the parade. And on Dec 11th, you can expect some delays during the parade timeframe, so plan your travel accordingly.
SAPD will have a vehicle in the parade, into which residents are encouraged to place a new child?’s toy. The SAPD Blue Santa program will distribute these toys to needy children. Also, blankets (collected from parade entries) will be distributed to the elderly and disabled in our area. Food booths, information booths, free entertainment, and drawings for free door prizes will go on at Millers Pond Park until 2 PM.
CAN YOU HELP? Tue, Dec 7th, following a press conference, SWCA needs volunteers to help pass fliers along the route. If you can help, call 623-4965. SWCA will also have an entry in the parade; if you want to be part of it, call 623-7485. And SWCA will have a food booth at Millers Pond; if you can help with it, call 623-7602. Lastly, if you know of any area families that need a visit from Blue Santa?—or any elderly or disabled who need a blanket, call 623-4965 or 678-0044 and leave their name and address. This information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
