National Nite Out (to fight crime)

This is the 20th Annual National Nite Out (NNO) in US. In 2002, over 33 million people participated worldwide.
Start planning your NNO block party for Tue, Aug 5th (7?—10 PM). Get to know your neighbors better, so you can better look out for one another. SWCA can assist with ideas, nametags, and maybe other things. If you plan ahead and register your block party, the police will typically stop in to visit your party, as well as your Councilman and other officials. Plus, if you register ahead of time and submit an award application report after your party, you could win prizes!
SWCA will have the registration forms at our Jul meeting or you can register online at ?“www.savip.org?”. Registration forms must be in by 4:30 PM, Tue, Jul 29. Award applications must be in by 4:30 PM, Fri, Aug 15.

Other suggestions are to drive with your headlights on that day and turn your outside lights on from 7?—10 PM.
