Your Involvement Is Needed

Saturday?’s Grand Opening of a tiny portion of Pearsall Park reminds us that nothing just happens (especially if it?’s an improvement to our area). Progress usually requires years of meetings, work, and follow-up. There are so many opportunities for improvements in our area, you can?’t leave it for developers, politicians, government staff and a few others to decide. We each must get involved?—and stay involved?– to help.
Two local advisory boards that always need more people and more ideas are the Millers Pond Advisory Board and the Pearsall Park Community Center Citizens Advisory Board. The Millers Pond Board meets the second Wednesday of each month, at 7 PM, at the park (next meeting, Jul 14). The Pearsall Park Center Board meets the second Tuesday of each month, 10 AM, at the center. (next meeting, Jul 13). And don?’t forget, both the city and county have many boards and commissions on which they need citizens to serve.
