- Sat, Jul 10, FREE Landfill Disposal Day, 8 AM?—2 PM, Covell Gardens Landfill. City residents can take non-hazardous loads of their large items to the landfill and dispose of them at no cost. Tarp you loads. Take a recent CPS bill as proof of city residency. Remember, regular brush/tree trimmings can be disposed of with your regular garbage, if they are cut in 4-foot lengths (or less) and tied in bundles weighing less than 40 pounds each. More info: 311.
