This month, the members of the Lighting District met and reviewed requests for new lights in both St. Andrews & Pinehurst. After meeting with Singing River Electric, Supervisor John McKay and all our District Members, the following letter was written to Supervisor John McKay for action.

Dear John;
We, the members of the St. Andrews/Pinehurst Lighting District respectfully request
the following installations of additional street lights at the following locations.
1. Installation of two new lights at the end of St. Andrews Drive, outside the curve, just North of Golfing Green Condos. (See Attached Drawing)
Residents of St. Andrews walk this area at night, and they have no lighting for any type of security or safety.
As stated in the letter from Singing River Electric, this will require boring under the road in order the provide electricity to that side of the road. The cost of boring is estimated at $1,000 to $1,200. We request this cost be picked up by Jackson County and not
The Lighting District.
In addition, Singing River Electric agrees to provide 1 light at no cost to you or the
Lighting District. After additional review of the area, we request that two new lights be provided for this area, due to its isolation from the other lights.
The only cost to the Lighting District would be the additional charge of about $10 per month per light for the power provided.
2. Installation of four new lights at the end of Pinehurst Drive. (See Attached Drawing) This area has no lighting whatsoever, and provides no safety or security for the residents that walk in this area. Singing River Electric has power on the South side of the road, so the lights would have to be place in that location, at the Plot Lines.
Installation costs are $65 per Light, with an additional charge of about $10 per month for each new light.
Attached is the letter from Singing River Electric, Mr. Jeff Catlett, Project Engineer, whom I met with regarding these two area.
If additional information is needed, please feel free to contact any of us who represent the Light District.
Respectfully Submitted,
