Be a Responsible Pet Owner – Spay/Neuter Your Pets

Oct 23, 2003

Did you know that last year alone, as a result of irresponsible pet owners, Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Control euthanized over 6,100 cats & 6,600 dogs! If you?’re not alarmed, you should be.
Although we all think it?’s cute when we see signs for free kittens or puppies, you may want to take a walk through Char/Meck Animal Control and see the HUNDREDS
of dogs, puppies, cats & kittens that are needlessly destroyed.
Statistics show that over 12 years, one unspayed female with all her unspayed female offspring can reasonably be expected to be responsible for over 3200 kittens if there is no human intervention.
The Humane Society of Charlotte offers low-cost spay/neuter services?… $40.50 for dogs (male or female), $33.50 for a female cat & $27.50 for a male cat. All you need to do is call and make an appointment at 704-333-4130.
If you are considering adopting a new pet, please consider Char/Meck Animal Control ?– 704-336-3786 as your first choice since they euthanize all animals after only few days. The Humane Society of Charlotte ?– 704-333-4130, also has animals available for adoption. The Human Society is a ?“no kill?” shelter. Animals will remain with them until they?’re adopted out.
Please share this information with a friend, neighbor or co-worker?…it may help save an
animal?’s life.
