Minutes for September 28 Meeting

Present: Ron Weston, Steve Clark, David Rhodes, Ray Pierce, John Gatton, Casey Jones, Linda Duncan, Nate Hollingsworth

Absent: Jenny Sangster, Inez Lynch, Reggie Paschal, Jim Caskey, David Marlow

The minutes for the August 17 meeting were read and approved.

Old Business:

Sidewalk projects - Mt. Holly undertaken, state to fix drainage problem in front of the florist, who wants to then pave his parking lot - Ray warns that paving the parking lot at the florist will increase MSD's charges.

Leemont intersections - sidewalks to be made handicap-accessible at the intersections by Public Works in March.

Village Plan - The beautifications to be done to Fairdale village, sponsored by the Metro Business Development Authority, will be done after winter. This plan will be shared with the Fairdale Business Association at the November 9 meeting.

The Fairdale Village Task Force met September 1 to discuss what will be involved in the designing of a neighborhood plan for the village area. Their next meeting will be October 5.

New Cut Rd. widening is now completed.


New Business:

Breast Cancer Screening - December 3 at St. Jerome's. All district residents will be informd.

Metro United Way is offering matching grants for which neighborhoods can apply.

Pull-A--Part Salvage Yard had its second public meeting on its way to requesting a conditional use permit from BOZA to build a salvage yard across from Yorktown North and the Yorktown Senior House.

Sidewalks needing repair should be reported to Ron, who will pass this on to Public Works, who right now has some money to repair the sidewalks.

Dave reports that Penile Rd. needs repairing.
