Well, if you are looking at Strawberry Farm streets and ways to keep the traffic in check, of course not! Despite all of last year's hoopla and hubbub, the city of Columbus has yet to address those concerns - even though it had more than $100,000 on hand last fall to develop some simple introductory devices! It's been almost a year since the state started its I-270/Rt. 161/Sunbury Road reconstruction and still no action on the city's part. The SFCA board is working to set up a meeting with traffic officials to find some answers to tough questions and hopefully this will not turn out to be a round of dodge-ball. Speaking of roadways, The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has some changes in store for the Northeast area over the next seven years that will, at some time or another, likely affect you. Here is a rundown:
* SR 315 Interchange - ODOT intends to replace the current "loop" ramps at SR 315 South to I-270 East and SR 315 North to I-270 West with flyover ramps which will reduce almost 80% of the weaving and merging at the interchange.
* US Rt 23 - ODOT has plans to reduce 90% of the weaving and merging by replacing the exit ramps from I-270 West to U.S. 23 South and I-270 east to U.S. 23 North. The ramp design will eliminate the exit loops similar to the new Sawmill Road interchange. In addition, the state plans to separate local and through traffic by creating northbound express lanes down the center of U.S. 23
* I-71 - ODOT will replace the "loop" ramp from I-270 East to
I-71 North with a flyover ramp.
