Chief Hurtt, on behalf of the members of the community partnership and civic clubs in southeast we thank you and your staff for attending our fact finding session on June 2, 2007 at Bethel Baptist Church. A common comment from stakeholders was that they appreciated you taking a personal approach to our public safety concerns. We are still reviewing the data however we wanted to send the raw data to you with some quality control comments. Given everyone did not answer each question and some may not have understood some questions; as well as some question could have been phrased better we are focusing on the clearest questions and response related to service, participation and knowledge on safety programs by HPD.
• Knowing and participating in outreach programs from HPD the response indicated that there is room from improvement
• Rating on participating in future forums of this type was favorable
• In relations to the relationship between officers and citizens there is room for improvement
Our goal is to distribute 1,500 new service and safety surveys including teenagers in August and end at our next Community Partnership Breakfast on September 13, 2007 to be held at South Union Church of Christ at 288@Holly Hall average attendance 475 expected attendance, 600. You sent a Captain from South Central Command, to one of our breakfasts’ in the past, I will call Assistant Chief Dirden this week to discuss our next step in the process of improving public safety and police and community relations.
