Annual Neighborhood Block Party is a Success

Over one hundred people participated in this year?’s block party held on September 8th in the 4400 block of Greenview. The jazz quartet Blue Moon Rising headlined the entertainment for the day. Entertainment for the children featured Samatha?’s Amazing Animals (and the animals were truly amazing!) and a fire truck visit. Several local restaurants donated food and we grilled up the best burgers this side of the Mississippi! Even the weather cooperated providing a sunny and warm day for the occasion.

The cost of the block party, excluding the many donations received in the form of food and raffle prizes, totaled $850. Approximately $500 of the cost was paid through the raffle, $200 through block party donations, and the remainder was paid with funds raised with a car wash earlier this year.
