Pool Keys being replaced !
Due to the number of people using the pool that are not residents of Sunrise at College Park, the board voted to re-key the pool and gate keys. The same keys are used for the pool gates, the front pedestrian gates, and the fence gates at the back of the property. Over the last two years there have been several duplicate keys given to non-residents, and several pool rules are being broken.
The board is hoping that by re-keying these lock, this will eliminate the problems of non-residents using our pool. The pool and common areas are maintained with the homeowners association fees, and use by those that are not paying these fees puts the cost onto the homeowners for the extra maintenance, repairs, and chemicals.
Each homeowner will be given ONE new key. You may purchase additional keys at the cost of $10.00 per key. Homeowners who are in arrears with their HOA payments will not be issued a new key. When the keys are ready, you will be notified as to how the keys will be distributed.
Rocks in the Pool :(
There are several children that are going into the pool area while waiting for the school bus and tossing rocks into the pool. This is also being done from outside the pool. This can damage our filtering system, and can cause major problems if a rock were to get caught in the impeller of the pool pump. Fungus and spores breed on rocks, and by putting them into the pool, can cause major algae problems, therefore adding to the volume and excessive cost of pool chemicals, as well as the safety problem of people getting hurt in the pool on a sharp rock or object. Your children?’s actions are your responsibility. If this continues, violation letters and/or fines will be assessed to the parents of the children doing the damage. Please advise your kids of this fact. In this same vein, the board is considering changing the location of the bus stop to be away from the pool area.
Pool Furniture
In case you have not noticed, we have a new concrete coated picnic table in the pool area. This was approved by the board last year, and was recently installed for everyone?’s use. Please treat the new furniture with care. We have also had problems with furniture being thrown in the pool, as well as recently a chair being thrown into a tree. Again, if you see this being done, please contact a board member immediately and the responsible party will be sent a violation letter and/or fine.
